Aries

If it’s your birthday before 20 April, happy birthday Aries! I’d love to tell you that you’ll receive red-carpet attention for your birthday month, but thanks to having only the Sun here until 20 April and Mercury departing quicksmart on 2 April, it ain’t so! The real it’s-all-about me action will take place in the first half of June (more on that later, ie in June!) but for this month it’s all happening in your wallet. The interesting thing about your birthday month is that there are only two aspects – both good – as the planets are lining up to do their thing elsewhere. You’ll get to reboot your life from the New Moon of 14 April. That day is a fun one to spend at the hairdressers, beautician, tanning salon, mani/pedi parlour and of course, to chujz up your appearance with new clothes. One of the loveliest dates to have a birthday get-together (a “bash” is too boisterous) with wine, dancing and kind-hearted, musical or mystical friends is 18 April.

What you’ll really be looking into is money! Venus will be here until 25 April, joined by Mercury on 2 April and the Sun from 20 April. Go and charm your boss or powerful people in your industry on 5, 6 and 25 April. You could have a brilliant money-making idea, attract an important client or meet someone powerful whose impact won’t be immediately obvious then. Smile sweetly at the bank manager to refinance your loan on 17 and 24 April or ask your boss for a raise. There could be some behind-the-scenes situation that means your request for more money will be delayed a little – perhaps they have to do some due diligence on you to make sure you’re worth it – so don’t expect a fast answer. You could receive news (or read) about a bonus, dividend, discount, eBay sale, mates’ rates, mortgage, raise, refund, rebate, or share offer on 28 April.

There is a “but”, unfortunately and it is that three planets go retrograde this month. The first is Pluto 7 April until 15 September. The second is Saturn on 8 April. And the real cruncher is Mercury on 18 April. This work-career-money trifecta suggest it is NOT the time to change jobs or to launch a new business but to consider carefully the pros and cons of where you are. Try to get as much financial paperwork done and as much money as you possibly can by 18 April because your cashflow could enter drought conditions until 11 May at the earliest, but it could even drag on until 29 May when Mercury has fully retraced his steps. Read the Mercury Retrograde article in the April newsletter for more information but you can anticipate delays in getting paid (even in your regular job), losing your wallet, getting hit with a string of bills, having cheques bounce or accidentally paying money into the wrong account/s from 18 April. If you have your own business (or chase debtors for a living) you could hear the old “the cheque’s in the mail” routine.

Money could be an issue with your love life (are you dating out of your league?) on 3, 5 and 25 April and friends could cost you dearly on 23 April. Someone may put pressure on you to combine your assets on the Full Moon of 28 April but you’ll be ready to discuss finances then.

Saturn goes retrograde from 8 April to 22 July. During this time you could have to work extra hours at the office (and maybe with no overtime, bonus or even days in lieu), and find that some of your workmates have been criticising your efforts, perhaps annoyed that they’re shouldering your workload. And whether you work or not, you could feel a little depressed about your health and fitness, finding it hard to get motivated. A major planetary aspect on 27 April suggests you may dearly wish to chill out but the slavemaster at work will be cracking his whip wanting you to work much harder. If you need your job to pay the bills, this is the worst day possible to explode in typical Aries frustration and quit as it will affect you for months ahead!

Pluto also goes retrograde from 7 April to 15 September. Whether you have a job or have been wanting to get back into the workforce, you might start running into your old clients, colleagues or bosses. You could start to feel that your current position is a mistake. Some of you may start to research a business idea.

Taurus

If it’s your birthday after 20 April, happy birthday Taurus! Aries is already aware they’re getting rather ripped off by the Birthday Gods but gosh, you’re not!

First up though, take a breather on the New Moon of 14 April. That day is wonderful for taking time out with a self-help book or seeing a counsellor, psychic or tarot card reader for some insights into your behaviour. You’ll be feeling particularly keen to help others and will quietly enjoy reflecting on how far you’ve come so far. You could have a dream, intuitive moment or even an amazing coincidence that ‘shows” you where you need to be with your career on 18 April. Perhaps a Pisces might offer you some wonderfully helpful advice on how you can raise your industry profile then.

You should have a great time this May! You’ll feel quite lit up inside with everyone noticing your inner glow, making you irresistible (especially to foreigners) on 5, 6 and 25 April. You could meet someone who quite changes your life then. Get a headstart on your birthday celebrations, breaking out the bubbly on 17 and 24 April when you’ll feel more inspired by life than you’ve been in a long time. A lover may ask for more of a commitment (which you’ll happy to give) or a child may need your help on 24 April. You’re not known for being selfish but it will be hard for you to think of anything other than your own plans on 28 April. If you’ve been busting to update your look, I suggest you hit the hairdresser, beautician, manicurist and fashion boutiques on 5, 6, 17, 24, 25 and 28 April and make sure you go out afterwards!

You could run into some strife from your family on 3 and 5 April. Perhaps there’s an issue around housework (someone’s doing too much, and someone else isn’t doing enough) or about your home. Maybe you want to stay put and they want to move, you’re squabbling with a flatmate, or you promised to help with repairs and household fixes which haven’t been done yet. If you don’t clear these by Easter, you could be arguing about it all over again on 25 April. You may receive a tempting offer from your boss, a powerful client or a headhunter on 23 April (or you could even fall in love with someone from your company) but ask for more information and sign nothing! There is more to this than meets the eye.

If you’ve met someone who has potential, you could try to force it along on the Full Moon of 28 April when there’s going to be a lot of talking – or sulking! – going on. This falls hot on the heels of a major planetary opposition on 27 April which suggests you could either feel trapped by the expectations of your lover or that your kids are dampening your fun. You’ll be busting to break out and goof up with your friends instead, so you’ll need to work out a compromise. Saturn goes retrograde from 8 April until 22 July which indicates you’ll have unfinished business to do with your love life, children or a fave hobby. From 7 April until 15 September, Pluto is retrograde too, so you might also have a rethink over a contract you have to sign or experience delays in getting a blog or website launched or a book written.

The real biggie is Mercury going retrograde from 18 April until 11 May. You can expect your personal plans to go on ice and a comedy festival’s worth of misunderstandings regarding your intentions until mid-May. Even if you’re the boss at work, getting people to follow your lead will be next to impossible!

Gemini

Many Geminis may start Easter feeling weary – and wary. There’s a good reason.

Normally this is your time to socialise and catch up with your mates but you might feel inclined to knock back a few invites and stay closer to home. After the New Moon of 14 April you can expect a few new faces to join your social circle as well as a fresh start to your friendships. You could even discover and sign up to some new groups, clubs, or associations after mid-April. If you receive an invitation to something on 18 April – go. You will be delighted how the evening turns out and could meet a like-minded soul, or even a soulmate!

For most of May however, you’ll be content to keep a lowish profile as you’ve got a lot on your plate to consider. Some of the luckier Geminis may be bringing up the drawbridge so they can hide away with a sexy lover (especially on 5, 6, 25 and 28 April) while others on the same dates will have a sympathetic ear if they need to discuss how they can tackle crushing debts or joint financial obligations that they’ve been keeping a secret.

Many Geminis will also be inspired how to re-kick their career or business after talking in confidence with a cheerful VIP on 17 April and someone who’s an industry maverick on 24 April. You could even receive insights via a dream or through déjà vu then. A problem shared is a problem halved, right?

There’s a time to act and a time to reflect and most of the latter is April. Don’t be pushed into a hasty decision by someone who scoffs if you say, “the time’s not right” on 3, 5 or 25 April. Your wits won’t be about you on 23 April when someone tries to dupe you – if it seems too good to be true, it probably is. On that day you could be sorely tempted to escape from your pressures on an overseas trip but now is not that time. When the Full Moon rolls around on 28 April you could have to make some final decisions regarding your working routine and/or your health. Try to delay signing anything – whether it’s a gym or a job contract now.

Why? Well, you guessed it, your personal ruler Mercury goes retrograde on 18 April and will go backwards until 11 May. it’s likely you could have to come clean about your money situation whether you choose to reveal your income status (or lack of it) or someone close to you does it for you. Thanks so much.

On 7 April Pluto goes retrograde. This suggests debts must be repaid. It could take you until 15 September when Pluto finally goes direct for you to feel like you’re getting ahead financially. Resources are more than financial – they’re emotional, mental, sexual, social etc. Has your sex life died as your credit card maxed out? Fix one and the other will follow. If you have been a good little Gemini paying your bills on time, saving money and attending to your ahem, conjugal duties, then someone powerful may come back into your life to help you grow your wealth. A few Geminis may have a rich senior family member pass away during this time.

On 8 April taskmaster Saturn goes retrograde. Whatever family or household issues you didn’t address as of 30 October 2009 are coming back to haunt you (sorry – be addressed). Saturn often represents a stern, no-nonsense school principal or grumpy grandfather figure. He is back until 22 July to ensure you put a permanent lifestyle in place that helps your family. You may feel trapped by your family responsibilities and/or be unable to get the domestic situation you want until then. A tough opposition on 27 April suggests yet another stand-off between your family and your career goals.

Cancer

Nothing dramatic is going to happen during April regarding your career. But I think you’ll spend a bit of time over Easter considering whether your occupation makes best use of your talents and/or if you should strike out in a different direction. You might discuss a new project, promotion, perk or transfer to revitalise your career after the New Moon of 14 April. Some of you could think seriously about following your bliss and launching your own business, especially on 18 April when you could discuss your financial future. You want to make more difference and/or team up with others to make more money.

You get the prize for having the funnest social calendar. Your friends will be urging you to come out and play with them on 5, 6, 17, 24, 25 and 28 April. If you’re single you should keep an eye out for a mysteriously compelling, sexy stranger on 5 April, a funny, well-travelled bon vivant on 17 April, and a friendly oddball or a conservative older type (your call) on 24 April. Any of these dates are also ideal for you join new clubs, meet fresh faces and feel connected to your buddies all over again. Interestingly, from 18 April to 11 May, you may also get some “Wassup?!” emails, texts, calls or catch-ups from friends who seem to have fallen off the radar.

It’s not a complete party-thon however, as there are a small number of negative aspects to contend with. The first two on 3 and 5 April suggest a squabble with friends over money – perhaps you owe someone for a loan, or they’re annoyed you don’t want to chip in for a group activity that seems to be costing too much. Should you not resolve this by the end of Easter, you could have that issue come back on the agenda on 25 April. Are you sexually attracted to anyone you’re currently platonic mates with? You could get some mixed messages on 23 April about this.

Finally, on the Full Moon of 28 April, you will be keen to bring a new love affair to fruition – maybe you want them to start meeting your friends? – while some of you may close the door on a romance. The issue of kids (love them, couldn’t eat a whole one?) also comes up around then. It might be now or never to have a(nother) child. In any case I think you’ll be discussing lovers or kids, with your friends.

Mercury is not the only planet to go retrograde this month. There’s also Pluto on 7 April, followed by Saturn on 8 April. Pluto will be going backwards until 15 September where you’ll be assessing your couple status during this time. Perhaps you feel manipulated by a close companion, partner or business partner, being pushed into a corner on some issue. You may want to pull away from your involvement with them to get some perspective.

Saturn goes retrograde on 8 April until 22 July. This is your last opportunity to fix up communication issues which have restricted you. You may find yourself called to explain paperwork, decisions and comments and realise you have to be much more aware about what you say, think, write, read and listen to. Saturn demands clarity and responsibility so fuzzy-headedness ain’t gonna cut it no more! You may see how your communication skills impact you around 27 April when Saturn opposes Uranus. A legal matter you thought you had heard the last of rears its ugly head again or you suffer some sort of disappointment in relation with a travel or publishing matter. You will finally understand why you need to dot your “i’s” and cross your “t’s”.

Leo

You might put your travel plans on hold until late May or June, starting to plan it after the New Moon of 14 April. You may also finally start moving ahead with your solicitor, or with a book, blog or new website (launch) after mid-April. The loveliest day to book (or even depart on) a holiday is 18 April thanks to a Sun-Neptune sextile. If you’re going on your “first weekend away” with a new partner you couldn’t choose a lovelier date. If you’re still in planning mode, you could receive some very helpful advice from a travel agent, frequent flyer program customer service rep or discover an idyllic retreat on the internet then.

But really, your real concentration is going to be on zooming up the career ladder. You may be very happy to burn the midnight oil this month as there is someone cute to do it with! You could easily meet a very sexy type in a suit on 5 April, get to discuss that project in great depth on 6 April, flirt and laugh like crazy on 17 April and find them absolutely irresistible, and maybe interested in settling down on 24 April. You’ll want to grill them intently again on 25 April and by the Full Moon of 28 April when it could be the watercooler gossip of the year! No, only joking. If there’s no-one cute at work, you’re already taken or you work for yourself, use 5, 6, 17, 24, 25 and 28 April to charm clients, win new projects and network with VIPs.

The catch is that Mercury goes retrograde on 18 April. Whatever deals you do not have signed off by then may grind to a halt until 11 May when Mercury goes direct again. You’re likely to hear from old bosses and mentors around this time too but don’t begin new projects as there will be problems that you haven’t allowed for – or reaslied exist. Read your Mercury retrograde section of the newsletter for more info on what (not) to do 18 April-11 May.

Mercury isn’t the only planet to go retrograde this month either. Pluto goes retrograde from 7 April until 15 September. Pluto is a slow-burn planet so when he goes retrograde, you’ll have plenty of time to reconsider things to do with your working world and your health and fitness. He tends to uncover the muck so you could discover some things are not right in the state of Denmark (or at least your office) with regards to corruption, manipulation and domination. Bullies get revealed during this time and so do toxic work situations. And go see your doctor and dentist if you feel at all unwell: Pluto can suggest hidden health issues.

Saturn goes retrograde from 8 April until 22 July. You may find yourself saddled with extra financial responsibilities, get hit with big bills or find it hard to get money you’re owed. Any financial issues are due to be especially tough around the opposition on 27 April.
It’s not all beer and skittles in your career this month either as you could be pushing too hard for action. Luckily the first two negative aspects on 3 and 5 April fall during Easter so you shouldn’t antagonise too many bosses, clients or customers then but 25 April points to a career-connected fury. Perhaps you could go for a run or a have a team-building day on Anzac Day where you pour your frustrations into the abseiling, drumming, scavenger hunt or whatever.

On 23 April you could be seduced into doing more than your share by a sweet-faced colleague or business partner. You are not getting the full picture here so watch out.
Lastly, if you’re not pulling your weight at home with housework or homework, a family member or flatmate could get particularly upset with you using your business as an excuse not to clean, cook, take out rubbish etc on the Full Moon of 28 April. You might have a detailed discussion how to make your home life work with your career.

Virgo

Are you waiting on money you’re owed? Debt will kill your sex life in no time. If sex really has gone off the agenda, circle 18 April when you should take the phone off the hook and concentrate on your partner. Try to put a debt recovery (or minimisation) plan in place from the New Moon of 14 April. As soon as you have more money in the bank, you should get that glint back in your eye!

The second astro-reason for a dip in bedroom action is that on 8 April, Saturn retrogrades back until 22 July. Saturn is notorious for making people feel insecure and bad about themselves so in your first house, which covers your looks, body and ability to light up a room, you could feel very a plain Jane or Jim. Saturn also tends to kill your sense of humour and interest in going out, too. Sorry about that chief! What he DOES do is make you much more disciplined about your body so if you need to drop a few pounds, it’s much easier to do now. A tough opposition on 27 April will make you suffer the old grass-is-greener routine, especially about your relationship status.

And the third excuse (sorry, reason!) is that Pluto goes retrograde from 7 April until 15 September. Pluto is all-or-nothing and in the love sector, well, he’s going to make you put your love life under the microscope. Do you get and give romance? Do you have fun with your partner? Do you enjoy time with your kids? Fun is an important element of sex – and without it, it’s just another chore. Think about it how you can have fun outside the bedroom to improve the action between the sheets.

The real emphasis this month is travel. You’ll have fun having a romantic break with your partner, or if you’re single, at least a weekend away with friends. If you can wing it, get out of town, join a frequent flyer program, or look for travel bargains on 5, 6, 17, 24, 25 and 28 April. You could also enjoy writing an article, blog, launching a website or dealing with lawyers then, although you could be secretly irritated on 3, 5 and 25 April. Make sure your boss has signed off on your annual leave or knows to arrange someone to cover your role if you’ll be away or are planning a trip on 23 April. If you haven’t organised any type of holiday away you could have an attack of cabin fever on the Full Moon of 28 April. Don’t be surprised if you’re calling, texting or speaking frantically to travel agents then!

Unfortunately, any travel, publishing or legal paperwork could trip you up a little once Mercury goes retrograde on 18 April. If you depart between then and 11 May, allow time to catch connecting planes, double-check your departure times and gates, and re-confirm your accommodation. If nothing else, pack your sense of humour!

Libra

April is traditionally your month to focus on relationships (your favourite topic). Most of the action already happened in March, but you can expect a reboot in your relationships following the New Moon on 14 April (a proposal might be on the cards for some of you, some will create a more “equal” partnership while yet others could meet The One!) and you could have one of the most romantic dates of the month (go somewhere lovely to captivate your senses) on 18 April.

Your real “job” this month is to consider everything you know, have, own, and owe. Use all the charm at your disposal to “seduce” others, especially powerful family members on 5, 6 and 25 April, meet a fun, generous person through work who’s happy to help you on 17 April, and look out for a sexy and eccentric workmate on 24 April, and a super-networked individual on 28 April. Seduction isn’t always about sex! You could persuade others to introduce you to someone useful, to loan you money, to create an alliance of some kind or to join forces on a particular project then too. Watch out that others don’t feel used socially on 3, 5 and 25 April, or romantically on 23 April.
With the Full Moon affecting you on 28 April, you may finally have to cut up your credit card or commit to a repayment plan of some kind. Try to pay off as much as you can by mid-month as on 18 April, Mercury goes retrograde until 11 May. This suggests very strongly that debts you owe will come back to haunt you and that there will be a money squeeze for a few weeks.

Mercury isn’t the only one going retrograde, either. You also have to contend with Saturn making a final return on 8 April until 22 July. During this time you could feel guilty about a private matter that you haven’t taken responsibility for. Perhaps it’s a secret health issue you’ve kept hidden or you’re slacking off at work – either way you could get into strife over it around 27 April. Work out if anyone could be hurt by your (in)action. Coming clean will make you sleep better, too.

Pluto also goes retrograde on 7 April until 15 September when you could experience a low-level sense of unease around your family life. Are you being completely honest with someone at home? Is someone trying to manipulate or dominate you – or vice versa? Are you secretly upset about something to do with your home eg you hate your house, upset someone’s not pulling their weight, don’t want your partner’s mother to move in etc? Don’t pretend any more, but work on it gradually and openly.

Scorpio

You are just going to lurrrve April! You have the loveliest stars for meeting someone with real relationship potential, asking an existing partner to move in, or getting engaged or married! Look forward to a deeply intimate moment or meeting an intense stranger on 5 and 6 April. Organise a fun night out doing something a little bit adventurous for a change on 17 April. On 24 April you can either arrange a surprise Big Date or have a more “traditional” evening – perhaps it’s time to meet their parents? You’ll be in the mood to (re)commit to your relationship all over again on 25 April and to talk pillow talk until the wee small hours on 28 April. That same night (28 April) is the Full Moon so you will be full of energy you want to share with your partner – don’t waste it just sitting at home watching TV!

Hmmm – gotta get this one out of the way: you do have Mercury going retrograde from 18 April to 11 May. While it can be aggravating at the time, if you keep a sense of humour about it, the romantic date stuff-ups and the he-said-she-said situations can make up all those fun stories months or years down the track. Speaking of romantic dates, when Mercury is retrograde here it’s not uncommon to hear from your exes, some of whom may want another chance...
Watch out for a squabble regarding your career on 3 and 5 April which could ruin a budding relationship. See if you can come to some agreement about this or you could be rehashing the issue again on 25 April. The other date you need to be aware of is 23 April. A flatmate, parent or child may be lying about something. They could make up stories about your date or do something that ruins a new relationship – take care.

Pluto – your ruler – goes retrograde on 7 April. You’re slowly, ever-so-slowly learning the impact of your conversations with others. It’s not a major part of life – pity some of the other signs – but it does mean that you need to take much greater care with your famous Scorpio sarcasm. Between now and 15 September, you could be dismayed that a comment, text, email, blog post or printed article gets taken waaaaay out of context. Think, write and speak carefully.

The other planet to go retrograde this month is Saturn, on 8 April until 22 July. At worst you could be excluded from certain events, have a major disappointment with a good friend or fail to be accepted into a particular social circle. But you could also discover an old, old friend from your childhood (possibly on facebook). The worst date for feeling bitterly disappointed with a friend, possibly because they disapprove of people you’re dating, is 27 April.

Sagittarius

This month is usually your goof-off month, but since you already enjoyed most of the planetary action in March, it’ll be back to the grindstone!

Circle 18 April for creating a soul connection. You’ll enjoy tender moments over dinner and maybe even a little weep at a chick flick. In any case, try something a bit whimsical to “up” the romance factor. If you’re even thinking of having children, watch out after the New Moon on 14 April. You’re very fertile right now!

Planning on starting a diet? Joining a gym? Quitting smoking? You couldn’t have picked a better month to do it! Since you’ll be motivated to look great, like magic, all the ads and articles about losing weight, exercising, eating properly and having a lovely massage will be magnets for your attention on 5, 6, 17, 24, 25 and 28 April. At the same time, you feel excited about your work. You could meet powerful clients who decide to give you a chance, befriend the office grump, take on (more) freelance work, arrange fun team-building events and manage to sweet-talk your boss into working from home more often on those same dates.

You do need to watch out for posting a work-related email, blog or article in anger or impatience on 3 and 5 April. Also, you could find it surprisingly difficult to get a straight answer out of a customer, colleague or client on 23 April. On the Full Moon of 28 April you could come to a sudden realisation about something that’s been brewing in the back of your mind. You might finally reveal a secret health issue (after getting confirmation from your doctor) or decide that a particular work situation has to end.

Mercury goes retrograde on 18 April until 11 May. If you’re one of the Sagittarians wanting to quit their job, be prepared for your CV to get lost, sent to the wrong headhunter or even – eeek! – left on the office photocopier! Any jobs you apply for now will have something missing in the job description about what it’s really like.

If you’re staying put, it could be super-hard to get projects completed on time and you, your boss, or your client will discover the silliest mistakes now.
Pluto goes retrograde on 7 April until 15 September. Pluto is Mr Wolf in Pulp Fiction, cleaning up the scene. Over this five-month period he’ll be super-keen to check that you’re across everything financially. Cash jobs you haven’t declared, loans, credit cards you can’t afford, accounting practices that are creative at best will come under the microscope! Keep your receipts! Some of you might even get audited by the ATO...

Saturn also goes retrograde from 8 April until 22 July. You may feel like you have to justify every career decision you’ve ever made. You could suffer some major disappointments or delays in getting your projects off the ground. People may say no to something they agreed on before – such as a raise, promotion or transfer – or they may want a lot more paperwork to justify their approval. New clients could be incredibly hard to get on-board. Fun, it ain’t gonna be. Hold your breath.

Capricorn

Did you have plenty of family catch-ups in March or throw a party at your house? Go looking for furniture, decorations or even a new home? April is normally “home time” for Cappies but most of the action happened last month for you. If you do have any plans relating to your living arrangements ie such as news of a move, renovation, repairs or a rellie coming to stay, expect to hear about it after the New Moon of 14 April. You’ll have a particularly lovely day on 18 April when someone could do you a big favour, possibly financially-related then. You could sell things successfully at a garage sale or on eBay, or perhaps a friend brings you a beautiful objet d’art for your home. Others could receive a surprise money gift.

Capricorns should radiate enormous charm to the opposite sex on 5, 6 and 25 April. Ever heard that tired old saying that “all you need is right in front of you”? You might feel you’ve found your soulmate! And all Capricorn parents will feel incredibly connected with their children now. Plan some family days together on those three date – these moments don’t come along often enough!

Circle 17 April for sweet old-fashioned fun – why not go somewhere and have a good laugh somewhere? On 24 April you can either do something completely out of the ordinary OR you can organise a romantic tete-a-tete to get to know each other much better. That same day is excellent for surprising your kids with an unusual activity and then taking them around to see your parents to let them share the fun.

Watch out for group excursions on 3, 5 and 25 April when it seems you pay more than your fair share and 23 April when someone doesn’t tell you truth about how much that night out is really going to cost. On the Full Moon of 28 April you may be inspired to organise more fun days out and decide then and there that fun – ironically – must be scheduled, and especially with your friends who you may not have seen that much this month.

Another reason you’ll need to diarise your “playdates” is that Mercury goes retrograde on 18 April until 11 May. This is a classic set-up for meeting at the wrong place, ticking the wrong box on your speed-dating sheet, double-booking nights out, forgetting to turn up to that party and for having the babysitter unable to turn up so you have to cancel your night out. Don’t be surprised if an ex or two emails, texts or wants to connect with you on facebook, either.

You may start to go through a subtle period of second-guessing what you want out of life thanks to Pluto going retrograde from 7 April until 15 September. Pluto is intense and loves to dig deep, especially in what is taboo. You could feel uncomfortable with people who are trying to make you stay the same as you’re aware you’re quietly yet permanently changing yourself. Your bull#$%^ meter is getting incredibly accurate and you could scare some less-honest souls. Your sex appeal is getting quite potent, too!
Your ruler Saturn goes retrograde on 8 April until 22 July. Getting itchy feet? Getting away might get delayed, or if you do it comes with responsibilities (ie you have to do a conference etc to justify it) or restrictions (no more than two weeks etc). Your exhausted wish for a break from it all could peak around 27 April when you are tired of the same-old, same-old.

Aquarius

Are you planning a family get-together? Hosting an Easter bash at home? Planning to move, extend, decorate, renovate or detonate? I think you’ll have LOTS going on at your home base in April!

One of your family members might insult or anger your date in some way on 3 and 5 April but 5 April has an amazingly powerful aspect that helps you resolve differences then. Choose your moment to speak gently in private with that grand(parent), son or daughter who has offended you or your new partner, and the underlying tension will get released. You can use 6 April to discuss things further, calmly and to make sure you’re both “good”. Have a party at home on 17 April. Everyone will be in a fantastic mood!

On 23 April I think the whole family scene could be draining and/or confusing. See if you can beg off discussing anything about your home and/or family until 24 April. One family member, tradie, real estate agent, flatmate or architect could propose an unusual and exciting solution which yes, will cost money, while another may suggest an equally viable idea that costs less, uses less resources or involves less change.

On 25 April I think you might turn off a potential partner when your family interferes somehow but you’ll have the insight to sort the situation out. On 28 April you’ll have one last talk-fest about home and family-related matters but as it is also the Full Moon, it may centre more on how your career impacts your household. Too much overtime? Is your business interfering with home life? Or is it time to go back to full-time work?

Whatever you haven’t resolved regarding your home or family situation could stay up in the air from 18 April to 11 May while Mercury is retrograde. Don’t expect matters to get completely finalised until mid-May at the earliest. And please, don’t sign any contracts as there will be something in there that you – or they – have missed.

Pluto goes retrograde on 7 April until 15 September. You may start brooding on a secret issue that possibly you’re ashamed of, and not ready to discuss just yet. If it affects others, you have to let them know. Skeletons are likely to start jangling in the closet...

Saturn goes retrograde on 8 April until 22 July. You could have an uncomfortable period where you’re reminded of your debts. You may need to have some awkward chats about loans, mortgages, credit cards and how much money you really expect to generate from your investments. Watch out for some fear, tension and resentment about it on 27 April.

Pisces

Did you have a bit of a money bonanza last month? Despite April being your traditional Money Month, there’s only one major aspect – although it’s a lovely one! – on 18 April. You could receive some money as a surprise or in secret from someone who wants to help you.

If you want to update your finances ie create an investment plan, refinance your mortgage, switch to a lower interest rate credit card or even offload stuff on eBay, do it on or around the New Moon of 14 April.

The real emphasis is on communication. Most people will be celebrating Easter from 2 through to 5 April which might be a good thing as you’re likely to feel quite angry about your role at work (maybe someone is threatening your position), or perhaps your health (“What do you mean I can’t eat a dozen Easter eggs?”), on 3 and 5 April. Since you’ll probably be on holidays, vent your fury to friends or a family member. A friend you’re very fond of might give you some insights that cheer you up again on 5 April.

One of the most beautiful dates for you this month is 17 April. You will be a wonderful, generous mood, full of bonhomie and fun – please don’t stay home! Play a fun day out.

On 23 April you could feel incredibly confused by private news, not knowing who to trust. Do nothing and wait until 24 April. You get to choose between two very different options: one allows you incredible freedom and excitement, the other offers you long-term security. What “speaks” to you? The next day on 25 April, you could be cranky all over again with a workmate or a rude remark again about your diet and exercise regime. A tell-it-like-it-is friend will give you some interesting insights.

You could feel irresistibly keen to go away somewhere on the Full Moon of 28 April or to even to go back to uni. If that’s currently out of the question, surf the net for some short breaks within three hours’ drive or short introductory evening courses.

One of the reasons you shouldn’t take a major (and costly) plunge just yet is that Mercury is retrograde from 18 April until 11 May. Any paperwork you have to deal with – contracts, quotes, invoices, emails, texts etc – could get infuriatingly delayed. Expect to play phone, email and visit tag until mid-May.

Pluto will be retrograde from 7 April until 15 September. You could wonder if some of your friends have really got your “back” – or if they’re secretly sticking a knife in it. Some of your friends may pass out of your social circle now and/or you could meet some fierce types who want your complete involvement. If you belong to a club or association you may discover some corrupt behaviour that appals you.

Saturn goes retrograde on 8 April until 22 July. Remember all those issues you thought you’d got past in about, oh, October 2009? They’re baaaaack! You could feel disappointed, restricted or bored by the people you meet or uninterested in pursuing a relationship. Single Pisceans will be feeling a little unlovable as dates go cold or don’t work out. All of you really could be wondering whether having a partner is all it’s cracked up to be on 27 April. Count to ten...
